day 1:
On the first day we leave Bucharest on A1 highway towards Pitesti then we enter the DN 7C towards Curtea de Arges. A first stop can be in Curtea de Arges to visit the monastery with the same name. Then right before the entrance to Transfagarasan, a mandatory stop is the Poienari fortress. Here after climbing quite a tiring stair, we can admire the first hairpins that lead us to the Vidraru dam. From here till late in the evening we have all the time to enjoy Transfagarasan. Tonight we will sleep in Cartisoara where you can find some nice accommodations.
