Road trip routes
Comarnic - Sinaia - Busteni - Predeal - Timisul de Jos
60 - 70 km/h
Prahova Valley is probably the most crowded mountain road in Romania and therefore avoided by most of the motorcyclists. However the road is pretty spectacular, especially if you are lucky to ride it when it’s less traffic.
Coming from Ploiesti, the climb begins immediately after Comarnic. From here to Sinaia, the road climbs sharply from about 550m to about 800m altitude. In some areas, there are two lanes on the climbing driving direction.
Then from Sinaia to Predeal we will cross all the resorts on the Prahova Valley, and about 80% of the length of this segment will be with 50km/h speed restriction. Between Azuga and Predeal there are about 3 km outside the town and we can enjoy some fast curves.
The most spectacular part of this road is the section between Predeal and Timisul de Sus. On the descent to Brasov there are six hairpins and some quite tight curve. The last part of this route we will follow downstream the Timis river. This part of the route has lost of very fast curves and very good asphalt.
