Poiana Campina - Provita de Jos - Sulatanu - Valea Lunga
Tarmac: good, some areas with bumps, some areas very waved
50 - 70 km/h
If you are in the area and you want to try a a new interesting route, this road is a good option. You can take this road as an alternative if you want to get to Transbucegi and you are tired to ride on DN1. After you will get to Valea Lunga, the road towards Pucioasa and then Sinaia is also nice.
From Campina you will have to take the road to Poiana Campina and then from here you will have to go towards Provita. In Poiana Campina, pay attention at the intersection in the center of the village: you will have to take the road that passes under the railway. After you exist this village, you have to cross a hill, and there are some nice tight curves. The next few kilometers are through Provita de Jos and Provita de Sus villages. You have to be careful, not tot miss the indicator towards Plaiu. From here the road climbs steeply through the villages houses and it becomes very narrow. You have to pay attention because there are 2 or 3 intersection with no indicators so go on the road that looks better.
Once you exist the village you will have a surprise because you will be on top of a hill and the view will be beautiful. The road starts to descend very steeply and there are some nice curves. Then you will get to Sultanu village and after a small stretch of open road you will get to Valea Lunga.
The asphalt is not excellent on this road, but it's a nice ride to take because in a few kilometers you will get a wide range of scenery: mountain villages, narrow roads, many tight turns, afforested hills and beautiful views.
